Pig-tail Linear electrode
This acute linear probe has multiple recording sites with a choice of 4, 8, 16, 24, 32 or 64 electrode channels. This probe is available in linear, stereotrode or tetrode configuration. The inter-electrode spacing can be 50, 75, 100, 150 or 200 µm along the length of the probe. Tip of the probe is according to customer requirement.
It is robust, which is due in part to its stainless steel construction. When used according to proper procedures, these neural probes will support many penetrations over a long period of time.
Neural probe diameters vary from 185 to 360 µm based on the number of electrodes and the PtIr wire diameter.
The output lead is embedded in a 2-5 cm silicone tubing, connecting the probe to the Omnetics connector, which flexibly allows the movement of the probe into different positions while in use. The connecting part between the probe and the silicone cable is araldite-type epoxy resin.
This probe is designed for acute application in medium to large subjects, such as primates, cat, etc. It allows either superficial or deeper brain penetration. It is expertly handcrafted and made to order with many finished options available to accommodate the most ideal configuration for your research needs.
